EEK!Shameless plugging

Ye Gods , so much time has passed .we have been back in UK for six months now .As we have not been on the road the impetus to write and update the web site has waned .So here goes ,

Brian at Tonks4x4 ( www.tonks4x4.com )completed the rebuild .The Lizzybus looks great and was shipped off to Coastline Campers ( www.coastlinecampers.com ) for the internal fit out .Again a credit to the people doing the work .Alucab (www.alu-cab.co.za ), supplier of the amazing roof tent , upon finally realizing that we are the Lizzybus , did us a cool deal on a Shadow Awning .Having used and abused a set of Koni Shock absorbers , Koni ( www.koni.uk.com)where obliging and set us a new set of Heavy Track Raids .The same for Odyssey Batteries (www.odysseybattery.com), one phone call and the Lizzybus was 12 volted up .Bearmach (www.bearmach.com ) , purveyor of all things “Green Oval” and the very helpful Amy rescued the build bill with a fantastic array of parts sent over from sunny Wales . Maxtrax ( www.maxtrax.com.au ) sent us a set of their most coveted recovery tracks from Oz and Front Runner( www.frontrunner.co.za ) completed the line out . Others who stepped up to the plate , the likes of Raptor Engineering , Gwyn Lewis 4x4 , Wright Off Road , Turner Engineering , Vehicleglazingspecialists.com and numerous others who helped out with what they could .Thanks guys

When our journey started our claim of being “Un - sponsored” was a proud boast .Having completed the first leg we feel it is an opportunity to showcase the equipment that we used and would always use .Everything on the Lizzybus is the culmination of five years on the road and based on hard earned experience

So , the end of the road is in sight and a new adventure is soon to begin .It has taken a lot of time and money but it should be worth it .

Our days are taken up with sorting the final issues and attending , as a guest vehicle various Land Rover shows .Our fame has spread far and wide as various publications pick up on our story and have even been covered on local television.

The next adventure is the Stans , Russia , Mongolia , Japan then the Americas .Watch this space

Life of Brian

Well after a three month wait we finally dropped the Lizzybus at Tonks 4x4 for her total overhaul and conversion to “Uber - Defender”

On our travels we have found a few people we can trust to do work on our trusty companion , now we have Brian .Little does he realise what he has let himself in for .

The Lizzybus motto of “ unsupported , unsponsored and unhinged” is something we deliberately agreed on when we started this adventure .Everyone wants sponsorship , free goodies blagged under the guise of charity work .well not us .We can say what we want about anything and everything we use .But , after five years on the road we feel that we can now give the Lizzybus seal of approval on kit .So if any businesses want to take the challenge and let us test their kit…bring it on .On the reverse side , anything that we are given will have to be fit for purpose and would have been something we would have bought with our own money if necessary . New/second hand panels have been sourced , the old ones to be sold on Fleabay ( might be classed as collectors items)

Such is the interest generated by our adventure we even had a 5 page spread in Land Rover Monthly and Land Rover Italia…..cool
